Maheas began her career as an Office Attendant at the Ministry of Defense. However continual education provided an opportunity for a career switch to join Nursing in 1988.

The initial years were tough as she attempted to study part time after having left school 12 years ago.

Her supervisors saw her zeal to learn and contribute to patient care, so recommended Maheas for relevant sponsored courses to hone her skills.

Her perseverance to constantly upgrade and acquire new skills provided the opportunity for a promotion to Senior Staff Nurse.
