Older of 2 siblings, Michelle took up multiple jobs and study loans to support herself through polytechnic and junior college as her family didn’t provide financial support.

Once she overstrained her vocal chords while giving too many tuition classes and required surgery to recover.

Michelle continued to fund herself in various courses to upgrade her skills. While on course overseas, she exposed herself in volunteer work. The experience came in useful when she initiated and co-ordinated the Peer Tutors programme and the Life Science programme with Ngee Ann Polytechnic.

Michelle was prepared to work for a better future for herself by upgrading with relevant courses.
