Sharifah is a dedicated teacher of 20 years, handling children with special needs.

She juggles study with a heavy workload in school where she is mentor to a team of 54 teachers. At home, she manages three children without the help of a maid.

To overcome the challenge of her work, she attended a 3 year part time course for a Diploma in Special Education. Sharifah continued to hone her teaching skills with local courses and overseas training which focused on working with children with multiple handicap and in Disablility Studies. She also received specialised training to teach autistic children.

Her efforts did not go unnoticed as she will be given the opportunity to pursue a course in Leadership and Management, sponsored by the Ministry of Education.
