| The Chinese pop music event of the year, the Singapore Hit Awards, is here again! Organised by MediaCorp Radio’s Y.E.S. 93.3FM and co-organised by Recording Industry Association of Singapore (RIAS), the event will be held on Friday, 4 November 2005, 8pm at Suntec Singapore Halls 601 and 602.
This is the 12th year that MediaCorp Radio is presenting the Singapore Hit Awards. A total of 26 awards will be given out, including Best Album Production, Best Group, Best New Act, Most Popular Male Artiste (Listeners’ Choice), Most Popular Female Artiste (Listeners’ Choice), Best Male Vocalist, Best Female Vocalist, Best Performing Regional Male Artiste and Best Performing Regional Female Artiste.
This year’s awards will have two new categories: Best Band and Best Composing Artiste. The Best Composing Artiste Award is created for recording artistes who are also talented composers.
Singapore fans will get a chance to see their favourite local artistes compete in two categories, Best Local Male Artiste and Best Local Female Artiste, which will serve as a platform to showcase Singapore’s very own talented and dedicated local artistes. Furniture and electrical chain store COURTS will present the COURTS New Idol Award to the artistes who receive the highest number of votes for their popularity and charisma.
This is the third year that Y.E.S. 93.3FM is teaming up with radio stations in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Malaysia to present the Most Popular Regional Artiste Award. Listeners from these regions will have their say by voting online for their favourite artistes.
With artistes from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Malaysia vying for top honours in this awards ceremony, audiences can expect a night full of excitement and entertainment. The artistes include Fish Leong, Energy, TWINS, Nicholas Teo, MayDay, F.I.R, Huang Qi Wen, Emil Chau, Hins Zhang, Stefanie Sun, Tanya Chua, Stella Huang, Sylvester Sim, Joi Tsai, Terence Teo, Liang Wen Fu, Kenn C and Xiao Han.
