The crowning of the world's first Hollaback Crew
The ten teams who made it to the 987 Hollaback Crew Grand Finals brought the house down with their dynamic performances last Saturday at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. Stand Out and Street Fusion emerged champions in the Under-17 and Above-17 Categories respectively. They won for themselves $10,000 each and also walked away with the coveted title of the world’s first Hollaback Crews.
The winners who were announced at the 987 Hollaback Crew Grand Finals are as follows:
- Under-17 Category
1st: Stand Out - SCGS
2nd: Spirit of Love and Peace - Whitley Sec School
3rd: St Nickelodeons - St Nicholas Girls School
- Above-17 Category
1st: 1st: Street Fusion
2nd: Team Se7en - NTU
3rd: B2D
- Most Supportive Teacher: Christopher Ong from Whitley Sec School
- MTV Viewers' Choice Award: Street Fusion
- Best Motorola Videographer: Ian from Street Fusion
- Best Motorola Percussion Group: B2D
- Warner Music Best Singer/Rapper: Xavier Teo from Street Fusion
- People's Association Best Cheerleading/Dance Group: Team Se7en
Special guest performers, Click Five had the crowd on their feet and screaming their lungs out when they were performing their hit singles, such as ¡°Just the Girl¡± and ¡°Catch Your Wave.¡± 987FM¡¯s very own Don and Drew serenaded the crowd with their chart-topping single, ¡°Be My Valentine¡± and had the crowd roaring with laughter when they were belting out their anthem, ¡°Uncle Mutton.¡±
A Best Banner Contest was held on-site and the winning design is a crest-like banner specially designed by the supporters of B2D. The designer won for herself a Motorola mobile phone.
