Inaugural Planet Music Humanitarian Award for Anugerah Planet Muzik 2007

The long-awaited Malay music event of the year, the Anugerah Planet Muzik 2007 (APM 2007) is back to bring together talented artistes from Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore. The gala awards show will be held on Friday, 8 June 2007, 8pm at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Fans can look forward to appearances and performances by the hottest stars in the industry, including the following

  • Malaysia's iconic singer Siti Nurhaliza, Malaysian Idol Jaclyn Victor, Noryn Aziz, Estranged, Altimet, Diddy & Yanie
  • Indonesia's pop diva Kris Dayanti, Gita Gutawa, Letto, Irwansyah & Acha Septriasa
  • Singapore Idol winners Hady Mirza and Taufik Batisah alongside Syed Azmir, Mawar Berduri, Malex, Imran Ajmain & Sleeq.

The gala awards will be hosted by popular Malaysian TV host Aznil Nawawi as well as Singapore's Suhaimi Yusoff, Fiza O and Fika.

For the first time in its 7 year history, APM 2007 marks the unveiling of the inaugural Planet Music Humanitarian Award. Conferred to a positive role model in the Malay music community for his/her relentless contribution and support to society, this prestigious award is testimony to the deserving artiste's influence in spreading the goodwill of humanity in supporting environmental causes and improving the lives of others around him/her.

Paying tribute to our local talents, there are two new categories - Most Popular Singapore Artiste and Most Popular Singapore Song, which will be determined by the public via SMS voting.

Ms Zakiah Halim, Vice President (Malay, Indian and Community Programming), MediaCorp Radio said, "Local music has been making huge waves in Singapore's Malay industry for the past few years. Topping radio charts, the high standards and popularity of our music works have won the hearts of many fans."

A total of 19 categories will be presented at the awards. The Most Popular Male and Female Artistes, Most Popular Duo/Group and Most Popular Song categories are determined by public voting through SMS for local categories and official forms for regional categories.
