Y.E.S. 93.3FM is Singapore’s top radio station reaching more than
one million listeners weekly
The latest AC Nielsen Radio Diary Survey results show that Singapore’s Number One radio station, Y.E.S. 93.3FM, reaches out to more than one million listeners weekly and MediaCorp Radio stations dominate in every language group. The survey (conducted from 24 March to 18 May 2008) shows that Radio still has a strong reach of 95.8% of the population# - an increase of 0.9% from the last survey.
Y.E.S. 93.3FM remains Singapore’s top radio station, increasing its reach by 2.7%, to more than one million listeners. Love 97.2FM maintains its spot in second place while Class 95FM is still Singapore’s favourite English station.
MediaCorp Radio has continued to step up efforts in engaging listeners. On 1 January, all its radio stations went 24/7, becoming available to everyone, everywhere, anytime. As part of efforts to offer greater variety and remain relevant amidst current trends, Korean programming was added to FM96.3 The International Channel in February - to further reach out to the fast growing expatriate community and diversify the local broadcasting scene. In addition to the French, German and Japanese time belts, this move has been welcomed by listeners with listenership growing to 3% in this survey.
Says Mr Philip Koh, Managing Director of MediaCorp Radio, “Since January, we have extended round the clock transmission and received positive feedback. The survey results have once again proven that we lead the industry and listeners continue to make MediaCorp Radio their station of choice. In the days ahead, we will continue to engage listeners through greater interactivity and quality programming.”
