The Cause
Fengxian(凤县) is a county located in the city of Baoji, Shaanxi Province which has been devastated hard by the 8.0 scale Sichuan-Wenchuan earthquake, which struck China on 12 May 2008. Many school buildings have either collapsed, or are now deemed too dangerous for usage. Many children therefore have to resort to studying in tents, shelters or other temporary buildings, which greatly limit the children from receiving a proper education.

The construction of the 3-storey school in Shaanxi is near completion and classes are expected to resume in the new building by end June 2009. The official opening of the school is targeted for September 2009.


School Construction Update (January 2009)
Construction work commenced in September 2008. The school’s foundation was laid in October and by the end of December 2008, the school’s ceiling was almost complete.

The size of the school was increased from the initially-planned 1,260 square meters to 1,376 square meters, due to the need for enclosed corridors to ensure maximum safety for the children. The students are currently housed within the school premises, away from the main construction site. The construction of the school is slated to be completed in May 2009.

Exclusive CD
An exclusive CD single specially performed by HIM International Music artistes was produced to support the cause.

CD single includes the song, titled《比较美好的世界》, sung by popular girl group S.H.E, boy band Fahrenheit, TANK, Dong Li Huo Che, Yoga Lin, Jade Liu and others, in support for the survivors of the Sichuan earthquake. Each single was sold at $5 with all proceeds going to World Vision.
