Q1 Who is eligible to participate?
The Challenge is open to all Singaporeans and Permanent Residents aged 21 years and above (as of 1 January 2006). Participants below the age of 21 and at least 18 years old are also eligible to participate in the Challenge if parental consent is obtained.

Q2 How do I qualify for this Challenge?
You have to undergo two qualifying rounds.

For the First Qualifying Round, you have to call in during the qualifying period (18 September 2006 – 20 October 2006) to any of the three stations when they hear the ‘invitation to call’.

• Gold 90.5FM – 9th and 10th caller
• Class 95FM – 5th and 9th caller
• 987FM – 1st and 2nd caller

For the Second Qualifying Round which will take place on 4 November 2006, all contestants from the First Qualifying Round will have to register at Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza at 7am.

All qualifying contestants will be required to place a non-refundable registration fee of S$10 each.

The Draw for all contestants who got through the First Qualifying Round will take place at 11am. Out of this group, 280 contestants will move on to take part in the Challenge with the 7 cars on-site (40 contestants per car).

A briefing on the rules and regulations will also be held on-site for these contestants at 12pm.

Q3 What is the Invitational Car Challenge?
The organiser will invite previous contestants to take part in the Invitational Car Challenge. The selection and number of contestants who qualify for the Invitational Car Challenge shall be at the sole discretion of MediaCorp Radio and Motor Image Enterprise Pte Ltd. No enquiries, appeals, verbal or written, shall be entertained.

Q4 What are the basic rules of this challenge?
For those selected through the Draw, they will be assigned to a car. All the contestants will have to place their right hands on their assigned car and keep it there till only one contestant is left.

Q5 How many cars will be available on-site?
In total there will be 8 cars on-site, with one being the Invitational Car.

Q6 How often are the contestants allowed a break?
They are entitled to a break once every six hours. (Please refer to the Rules & Regulations).

Q7 How long is each break? And when are the breaks?
Each break is five minutes long. The breaks will be at 1pm, 7pm, 1am and 7am each day.

Q8 What can the contestants do during each break?
They can use the toilets and/or get something to eat, drink or get a massage from the paramedics on site.

Q9 Will the contestants be able to interact with their family members at all during the Challenge?
No, except for the 7pm (dinner) breaks. However, the duration of the break is still five minutes.

Q10

How does a contestant get disqualified?
Contestants will be disqualified immediately if the following scenarios happen:

  • If they are caught showering, bathing or shaving on site.
  • If they are caught using any personal hygiene / cleaning devices such as wet wipes, tissues, talcum powder, etc.
  • If they are caught in any physical violence (e.g. punching, slapping) or any sort of unruly behavior between any of the teams at any point.
  • If they are caught relieving themselves (e.g. urinating) in their clothes during the Challenge.
  • If their palms were entirely out of their designated palm decals.
However, each contestant is permitted a total of 3 warnings (for minor offences only) before being disqualified from the Challenge. A contestant is disqualified immediately once all 3 warnings have been served.

Q11 Will medical support be available to the contestants?
Yes, a fully-equipped ambulance along with paramedics will be on standby from the start of the Challenge. They will be there to give any necessary medical care and treatment to all contestants.

Towards the later stages of the Challenge, regular checks will be done on the remaining contestants to ensure that they are fit enough to carry on. They will be taken to the hospital for treatment, if necessary.

Q12 What will happen if there is more than 1 contestant left standing at the end of the Challenge?
The remaining contestants may have to undergo physical and/or mental challenges to determine the eventual winning contestant

Q13 What does the winning contestant get this year?
The winning contestant walks away with 1 Subaru Impreza WRX 2.5L valued at S$71,000 (without COE), and if, the winner comes from the Invitational Car, he/she walks away with 1 Subaru Impreza Limited Edition (Tuned by STi) 2.5L valued at $90,000 (without COE).
