  Q1. Who is eligible to participate?
  The Challenge is open to all Singaporeans and Permanent Residents aged 21 years and above. Participants below the age of 21 and at least 18 years old (as of 1 January 2008) are also eligible
to participate in the Challenge if parental consent is obtained.

This year’s Challenge will also be open to regional contestants from Hong Kong, Malaysia,
Philippines and Thailand. The qualifying rounds for regional contestants will be conducted by Motor Image Enterprise in the respective regions.

  Q2. How do Singaporeans and Permanent Residents qualify for this Challenge?
  You have to undergo two qualifying rounds. For the First Qualifying Round, you have to call in
during the qualifying period (29 September 2008 – 31 October 2008) to any of the three stations
(Gold 90.5FM, Class 95FM and 987FM) when you hear the invitation to call.

The first male and female callers of each call-in segment will enter the Second Qualifying Round,
which will take place on Saturday, 8 November 2008. All contestants will have to register at Ngee
Ann City Civic Plaza at 7 am.

All qualifying contestants will be required to place a non-refundable registration fee of S$10 (cash) each.

The Draw for all contestants who got through the First Qualifying Round will take place at 11am.
Out of this group, 350 contestants will move on to take part in the Challenge with the 10 cars
on-site (40 contestants per car).

A briefing on the rules and regulations will also be held on-site for these contestants at 12pm.

  Q3. What are the mechanisms of this challenge?
  This year’s contestants include Singaporeans/PRs and regional participants from Hong Kong, Malaysia, Philippines, and Thailand. For those selected through a lucky draw, they will be assigned to a car. All contestants will have to place their right hands on their assigned car and keep it there until one last contestant is left standing.

The longest-standing contestant will win a Subaru Impreza WRX 2.5L Manual worth $80,000 (before road tax and COE). Please note that the car does not include COE, road tax, insurance, IU unit, radio license and registration fee.

  Q4. How many cars will be available on-site?
  There will be 10 cars on-site.

  Q5. Are the contestants given any breaks?
  They are entitled to a 5-minutes break once every six hours. The timings are at 1pm, 7pm, 1am
and 7am each day. During the family break (7pm), ONE family member (above 12 years old) of
the participant is allowed to enter the arena.

Family members can pick up their Family Passes on Saturday, 8 Nov 08, at 5pm only.

  Q6. How does a contestant get disqualified?
  Contestants will be disqualified immediately if the following scenarios happen:

 
  • If they are caught showering, bathing or shaving on site.
  • If they are caught using any personal hygiene / cleaning devices such as wet wipes, tissues,
    talcum powder, etc.
  • If they are caught in any physical violence (e.g. punching, slapping) or any sort of unruly
    behavior between any of the teams at any point.
  • If they are caught relieving themselves (e.g. urinating) in their clothes during the Challenge.
  • If their palms were entirely out of their designated palm decals.

  • However, each contestant is permitted a total of 3 warnings (for minor offences only) before being disqualified from the Challenge. A contestant is disqualified immediately once all 3 warnings have been served.

    The Marshalls are empowered to disqualify contestants who are caught breaking the rules.
